Hello Folks,

I am trying to figure out if I will encounter any problems ordering used 9mm, deprimed brass from the USA. You would think not, but between ITAR regs and the general stupidity of both our government and regulatory regimes... I sometimes wonder. Any advice?

Cheers,
Mr. Bjorn

There is tons for sale in the gta. Look on the EE.

Brass, bullets, powder, primers and loaded ammo are okay to come into Canada, but NOT OK to leave the states without paper work.

If you shoot in the club matches in your area you don't ever need to buy 9mm brass. Just pick up what you shot along with a couple of hundred more at the end of the day. Only about one in five bother to pick up 9mm brass. So there's lots left for those of us that do reload.

A buddy just got a 9mm gun a year back. He bought the first 500 loaded rounds and will be reloading very soon. He's already up to around 1500 cases from coming out to the first couple of shoots with his initial 500.

+1 on this. At my club only about 25% reload. A lot of ipsc shooters and tournaments, so a lot of brass. Club rule is help yourself to the pick up bucket. I come home with a shopping bag of brass per outing. Luckily I have a brass sorter. 10-15 minutes to sort out calibers.

I hit a windfall a few years ago when the CBSA were training at the Mission range. I dropped in late on a Weds. afternoon as they were leaving and the 20L buckets were full of 9mm. I grabbed a discarded carton and filled it up. I didn't even own a 9mm at the time, but I knew I would eventually. :)

You can't get away from the general stupidity of governments. No components can be exported without the U.S. State Dept.'s approval. They're afraid the Taliban and ISIS will start reloading the 7.62 x 39 they get from the Russians.
