So, lets say I got myself wicked deal. Scored an old S&W .455 revolver and about 500 rounds of original .455 webley ammunition. What would the original ammunition be worth to collectors? I mean, there's no sense in being selfish and keeping it all to myself, right?

If it is 455 webley mk2 ammo it is still in production & sells new for $50 a box .
If it is 455 Colt/webley mk 1 ammo you could get a bit more.
I would be interested in some but it would be shot Not collected :D

Personally, I prefer that old Dominion mfg .455 ammo headstamped .455 Colt.... And it's great for reloading, too.

Keep the gun and the ammo together, if it is classified as antique put it up for sale at half again as much as you paid for it.

I've seen the fiocci stuff on SFRC, but this stuff looks considerably different than either the new production or the stuff you guys just posted. I'll post a picture when I get back home

.455 Webley is widely available in Canada. The .455 colt is a bit longer case but most are interchangeable and either are easy to reload.

+1 on the reload.

I've had a custom order set of RCBS .455 dies for years; sadly the sizer is not carbide, so have to mess around with lube on those stubby cases.

However, as I have found you can also used .45ACP dies to reload .455 cases. I switched to my Lee dies with the carbide sizer & never looked back.

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about!

I've been quietly scoring full & part boxes & even loose Dominion .455 Colt ammo for years. Got a good stash of it, too. :)

Have a vintage S&W Handejector .455 that my Dad gave me way back when to use it in.
