This came in the mail this week with another Ill post later. Nice 1941 G.33/40, all matching, untouched. Beautiful 3 piece walnut stock. Finger jointed, a technique not seen on other German rifles of the time. Similar to a vz33, but with some Germanization. Only numbered parts are Stock, hand guard, receiver and bolt handle. This one does not look to have ever been apart, I plan to leave it that way.

These survived the war in fairly good numbers, what they didn't survive was hunters. Once you hold one of these you'll see why. Super short, a full 5" shorter then a k98k, at least 2 lbs lighter, and built to very high standards. Very smooth. Was highly desired as a starting off point for a sporter project.

Cool gun. A few years ago I followed an American Gunsmithijg Guild build on one of those actions that sold for over $8k. Was a beautiful rifle.

Last SOS had several with unnumbered bolts, temptation was high but I resisted - also because you explained it was not correct. Nice one, Andrew.

Nice, I saw them in stores in New Zealand in the 60s.

I used to have the predecessor, the Czechoslovakian Mauser vz.33/16 Carbine, as issued to the Finanční stráž.

I sold one just like that to Joe Salter last year a couple of weeks after I went for stints in my heart and my wife was diagnosed with cancer.
It had the same kind of stocks but was missing the cleaning rod and front sight cover.
My G33/40 was marked 945 and 1940. Serial number was 4282a.
I kind of wish I had kept it, but I had other things on my mind.

I know where yours is. It's made a few moves.
