Original, new Mauser 98?

Mauser's website lists 2 models in current production: M98 (the legend) and M03; who sells them in Canada and what is the price?

Wolverine has the M03 listed here on CGN (and they are a sponsor). I think you are looking at a starting price of $3k or so for the M03 and the M98 will be quite a bit more.

Wolverine quoted me $17,000 for a new Mauser M98 Magnum in .375 H&H Magnum. It also takes 10-12 months to get one of these rifles.

Shucks, I got a 98 Mauser I could be talked into selling for half that amount!

I am sure the standard length M98 is much less than the Magnum length version. I amalso sure it would still be significantly more expensive than the CZ. Still, I think the M98 is as much an investment as a tool.
