Really!

Boy, don't know who your are, but what's with the "dissing" of the Oshawa Club?

Boy, for a club who has not had a Canadian Open in the last 20 years, or an Ontario Open for many many years I would have thought there were better way of promoting your club, rather than at Oshawa's expense!

What with declining skeet shooters in Ontario I would think we need not get into this type of thing.

Everyone else, come out and give us a try, if we don't meet Uxbridge's exacting standards then place your comments here.

I haven't been going to the 4 gun shoots for the last two or three years, and I know oshawa hasn't had the ontario's or the canadians for two maybe three years, but
I though they were running at least one four gun shoot a year weren't they?

Open to all NSSA/OSSA memebrs as it's a registered shoot. Advertized as a 12 ga event, but any gauge can be shot I would assume, with 12 ga average for HOA.

4 gun shoot next year, as the club did not have time to do a 4 gun in May. Also a 4 gun right after Ottawa's shoot is not a good idea.

I shot at the Ontarios in Oshawa last summer, and it was first rate. Have also shot at Uxbridge, and its also a first rate club! How about we support each other and stop finding fault with clubs trying to generate interest in skeet. Despite what the politician and CFO might be trying to do to clubs in Ontario, some of us are determined to carry on! See you in Oshawa on the 28th and good on you for taking the initiative!

If I can fit it in, I'll be down for the one day shoot. I've always enjoyed shooting at Oshawa. It'll be good to get back out there the weekend after Ottawa.

I think I've shot a 5 gun NSSA shoot every year at Oshawa since about 96 and have never encountered any issues with the field equipment. In the last few years I can think of multiple 100s in the .410/Doubles and many 397+ out of 400 at that club. I believe Todd Bender won a couple of Skyline's a few years back and he was very complimentary about the targets at Oshawa.

I'm looking forward to the Skyline returning in 2012. Right now it's tough for Ottawa shooters to make their OSSA minimums with the lack of "close" clubs holding 5 gun shoots, so if Oshawa can get back to holding the Skyline it's great for everybody.

BTW, if anybody has serious complaints about a club they should first contact the OSSA or CSSA and discuss their issues before flaming clubs or shooters on this board.

Can't wait for this event. this will be my first competative shoot of the year.... I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of things..on a side note i just went to the nssa website, you can look your self up and get all your info or the info of another shooter just by entering their name or number. it shows their class along the board. very cool to see as i had forgot what classes i shoot in and what my averages were

I'm not a Oshawa member but I've shot a ####e load of competitive targets there. I've also shot targets from Espanola to West Palm Beach and many places in between and Oshawa is one place I've had great times at with fantastic people. I will make every effort to get myself and my daughter signed up for the shoot.
It's is up to all shooter in all disciplines of shooting to support each other and our respective clubs harmoniously.

Regards
Rocco

The Oshawa Skeet and Gun club return to competitive skeet shooting was a outstanding success, with 39 shooters competing out of a possible field of 40 positions.

The morning flight started under foggy, but with still conditions with the flight starting at 09:30. The fog cleared for the 4th round.

The leaders after the first 100 were Dan Morris with the only 100 straight closely followed by Bill Zager with a 99.

After a lunch break the second 100 targets were started at 13:00. Under clear and warm conditions, with a slight breeze, Dan Morris again was successful at running another 100 straight, closely followed by Bill Zager with a 98, to end up with a 200 straight, followed by a 197. Congratulations to both; great shooting! Of course other shooters had excellent score and some not so much!

Shoots-off were conducted and results posted below, (see Skeet Review for complete scores).

Following shoot-offs, a handy-cap shoot-off was attend by a large number of shooters for a $500.00 gift certificate thanks to Jerry Gagnon of Gagnon Sports, Oshawa. Two lucky winners happily went home with a $300 and $200 gift for new guns or whatever!

Following the shoot-offs, a steak dinner was served and enjoyed by all, thanks to Patty, Julie and Anne-Marie.

A great job was done by Bob Cake and Dan Hardin, along with their capable crew of referees, trap personnel and other helpers.

Welcome back Oshawa! Glad to hear the shoot was a success. I am looking forward to attending the 4-gun (5-gun) format next year.
