other non bull-pup semi options in 5.56

Now that all of my .223/5.56 rifles must stay forever in the gun safe, I'm looking for as-yet-non-prohibited auto-loading rifle options. The Kel-Tek Su-16 looks good to me, but nobody seems to have one in stock. I'm not a fan of the various still-legal bullpup options. Any other recommendations? I'd rather spend <$2k
 
Wk180c- it's been two years since I got the rifle. I've shot over 6000 rounds so far with the same barrel, and receiver. Only change was the bolt carrier swapped out for nitride bolt under warranty. Today was a decent day with light snow and mild winds at Silverdale. I was able to group <.75 MoA @ 50 with AE 55gr and 1MOA with Barnaul 223 55gr. 1.5 or less MOA @ 100 yds. And Kodiak had been always been good to me. No complaints. I don't understand the hype about the wx or MCR or whatever but they're all sub 1300$. Just get one. I'd buy another wk if I had the money.

The list of options is nonsensical, which is to say the ones on the list versus the one's already banned, is almost random.

The reason they left us these pretend options, is that so fewer of us would put up a fight. Rest assured that the list will be cut in half at least a couple more times, before being erased altogether.


Heck, I bet my FNAR will be one of the last rifles standing. I can guarantee that it's going to get banned eventually as well though. Same as my su16.
