Okay, I've got a few of the Tasco Varmit 6x24x42mm (mildot) scopes. I really like the high magnification, but I find that they are a little bit dark at times.

I understand that this $100 (or less) scope is not the best in terms of quality but you get what you pay for with optics.

While they've worked quite well for me, I'm interested in "quality not quantity" these days and want to get a really good scope for my higher end 22LR rimfires.

I like the high magnification levels but really want good clarity and brightness.

What would you guys recommend that is sharp and bright, has high magnification (20-32x) and AO but less than $300?

Options?

If $300 is your budget, Vortex Crossfire would exceed any Tasco that you have been using. Jump your budget to $600-700 and you could move into a Viper and wonder why you were ever using the Tasco.

Thanks for the tip on Vortex. I'm looking at the Crossfire 8x32x50mm AO now and it's probablly going to be under my budget amount!

Thanks!

That is a LOT of magnifacation for a .22. The Vortex would suit your needs for your buget restrictions. If you were willing to come down on the magnification you could get a decent Nikon or Bushnell elite for under the $300 limit.

I have actually heard good things about Vortex so maybe that is the answer for you. The EE would be another option
