What powder's outside of the usuals like W231 or Titegroup are you using for 10mm? Aside from the two mentioned I also have some Longshot and Unique, was thinking of grabbing some Accurate #9 & #7 to try out. Would like to up the velocity and spice things up. Anything else I’m not thinking about, Longshot looks hot and is relatively affordable and easy to get larger jugs of. I’ve got 165, 180 & 200gr projectiles to play with as well as a jug of 174gr cast I need to powdercoat.

Thanks for the other options, will have to check numbers in my manual and keep my eye lbs open, I’ve wanted to try bluedot for a bit but haven’t seen any in ages. I will have to grab a bit of Accurate 7 & 9 to try as I know where to get some easily, I’m surprised we don’t have a 10mm load recipes thread going already.

OP,
Accurate Arms #9(ball powder) out of TN has a slower burn rate than Accurate #9 (duplex powder) out of MT.

Accurate Arms/Accurate #7 burns dirty no matter how you ignite it- LP std/mag or LR std/mag primed.

It's anyone's guess what Hodgdon is bottling.

Blue Dot (flake powder) will sneak up in a jiffy w/in 1/2grain showing pressure issues.

Thanks guys, I’m going to grab some Accurate 7 & 9 and see what it and the Longshot I have will do over the chronograph. Pretty sure I can get hs-6 nearby as well, blue dot I’ll have to keep an eye out for. Maybe I’ll start a 10mm load recipe thread once I get some chrono numbers on paper.

FWIW Hodgdon somewhat recently updated their data for Longshot/10mm. The old data was pushing 50,000psi. I had to pull about 4,000 rounds... I stopped losing slide stops and trigger pins ever since though.

Nothing beats 800-X if you don't mind hand weighing charges. AA9, Longshot and Blue Dot are my favorites otherwise, in that order.
My go too powders too , I've got some true Blue I'll load up now and then as well. I bought a sealed pound of 800X for $20 . I loaded 200 rnds of 180 grn Sierras the hand dipping/weighing was way too tedious for me. Might end up having doing them in smaller batches on a day I feel like it.

Years ago when I owned handguns, Longshot was the ticket in 40 S&W. The velocity, flames, and muzzle report were awe inspiring to say the least. I know you're asking about use in the 10mm, but I can only imagine it would work as good or better in the slightly longer cartridge.
