So I went out to Limoges for the inaugural Field Target event that DHB organized/put on. While there were only 6 shooters the event was a hoot! Regulation targets offer a huge challenge when set up at 30, 40 or 55 yards (and no one remembered to tell the guy from QC that his pistol would be a disadvantage, he shot great)! The setting was perfect and I managed to trim a bit of vegetation that was obscuring the itty-bitty silhouette targets. You'd be surprised how little it takes to deflect a 177 pellet!
If anyone has any interest in trying this type of shooting I highly recommend it. I was going to buy another 1911 but I'm now thinking a high quality air rifle has just passed it on my "honest honey, just one more gun and I'm set" list. We had a variety of break-barrel and PCP (well, one of them) guns there so now I just have to make up my mind.
Rumour has it we'll do it again in Nov. with an even wider array of targets. Stay tuned.
