The Liberal government has withdrawn a series of controversial amendments to pending firearms legislation, C-21 — changes that some firearms owners say would have unfairly targeted hunters and farmers.

We are closing the shop at 12:00 today to go out and celebrate, we apologize and any inconvenience this may cause

You might reconsider the celebration my read on the tea leaves is the Liberals had the votes to ratify C-21 then they put in that amendment which would have criminalize the possession of millions of hunting firearms. This unified the entire gun community, almost all the political parties, the first nations and pretty much everyone else with a functioning brain against C-21.
So they withdraw the amendment clearing the way for c21 to pass ratifying the orders in council of the handgun ban, and the ban of 1500 makes and models of modern sporting firearms.

Get rid of C21 and the IOC is the only things that can be celebrated.

My sentiments, exactly. My firearms are still going to be confiscated. What kind of victory is that.
The farmers, and hunters are now going to go back to sleep, because this fight, for all firearms, no longer involves them.
The politicians are breathing a sigh of relief now that their constituents are no longer harassing them. It's business, as usual.

That's a win in my books! Still expecting their usual tom-foolery to follow, could see a bait and switch and find something else snuck through. Or perhaps it'll just be their wedge issue for the next election.

keep pushing, the OIC of May 2020 and the Handgun Ban (or Freeze like the commies say) needs to go. We need an election.

This is great news, but we can't afford being caught up in big victory laps just yet.

Not only they are likely to try again from a different angle, the OIC and the handgun ban is still very concerning.

We need to build on this momentum and under any circumstances we should not let our guard down.

Having said that, I would live to be a fly on the wall at the Poly headquarters right now!!

I think the amendments were an attempt to bring the 2020 ban into law so they wouldn’t have to go through with the “buy back”. They really didn’t have much hope in those coming amendments slipping through but what it has done now is cause the community to breathe a sigh of relief and now C21 will come out of committee and get passed exactly the way it was written with all the red and yellow flag laws in it. Handguns are done in this country even if the bill fails so we need a change in government to undo that. We need to keep the pressure on the committee to scrap C21 fully so we don’t end up getting unjustly targeted by yellow flag laws that they can use to disarm us.

With g4 now off the table c-21 won't code in law the rifles banned by the oic. But bill c-21 is still a #### bill that shouldnt e passed.
