Hello. I did try a search and tried googling for an answer. But to no avail. Back in 2009 Some students in my high school had the option to take the PAL course after school and receive a credit upon successful completion. I think out of maybe 10 of us 2 or 3 actually sent away for the license. I myself had no intention of purchasing a rifle right away and so had simply forgot about it. Well it's now 2011 and I would like to get myself a rifle. So I'm wondering if I would need to take my exam again or if the old exam from 2009 would still be good. I would assume if a PAL were actually granted that it would only be good for the amount of time remaining out of the 5 years. So a little under 3 years? Anyways guys I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me if I need to take the course again.

If you passed the course you should have something on paper to say so. Once you have passed the firearms safety course it is good for ever. If you actually applied for your PAL you should have received a card in the mail from Miramachi [sp?] with your unsmiling mug on it. If you got it it is valid until the expiry date on the front. Welcome to the site.

yes
Think of it this way. Kids at the age of 12 can take the course and cant apply till they are 18 they keep the test results for atleast 6 years and they are still good.

Fill out the application form mail it in.

get your licence

get EE access

Get broke

have fun

Your test results are still good. Just send in a photocopy of the sheet with your PAL application. Keep your original. the Firearms Center should have their own copy and a record of it.

Get your non-restricted license first because you should be able to get it fairly quickly since you already have your stamped test results. However I suggest that you start working on your restricted license. Hand guns are so much fun and you will already be prepared when the bug bites, and it will bite.

Thats next on my list. I was looking at picking up a cz 858 as my first rifle. love the ak look. and from what I've read it sounds reliable.

My CZ 452 Varmint (22LR) just came in this Wednesday. However this model does NOT have any sights and I'm still waiting for the scope I ordered. This rifle should be a good shooter, I just have to do my part. :D
