Hey guys did my hunter ed course on the easter weekend in ontario and I know I can go to the MNR and get a temp card until the real card arrives my question is how long should it take for the actual card to arrive?

A couple of weeks is all it took to get mine.

I got mine in January/February.

The lady said I was stuck with the paper temporary one until next year... WTF! Damn Ontario!

Go to them with the test paper , says you pass. You are good to go

It can take anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks...depends on how busy the paper pushers are.

took my course in may got the real card in december

In ontario no plastic cards are issued untill december or so so your stuck with paper lic's till fall when your card comes in.If you've done the turkey course your card will have a T on it so your good to buy a turkey lic without having to bring your turkey cert in when buying the lic.You cannot buy a 3 yr small game lic with a paper lic as well so for the next couple yrs you'll have to buy it yr by yr until your card expires and then you'll be able to buy the small game and fishing lic's in 3 yr terms.

When i did mine i had the slip till the end of the year, Then got the letter from teh MNR about renewal, and got a 3 year card with small games, and fishing
