Hello All,
I have joined the forum a little while ago and found it a great place to gain valuable information from your experienced members. I have recently taken up target shooting and I wanted to ensure I am following all the right rules and regulations. I learned to shoot in army cadets but it has been a long while since then and now I have the time and resources to get back into the sport.
I have a few inquiries that I would appreciate any information on. These pertain to target shooting outdoors and not at a range. (I have a range membership where I shoot restricted & skeet but I am looking for a more diverse experience in rifle shooting, especially for above 150 yard range)
As I have moved from Ontario to Quebec I wanted to know what restrictions & regulations apply to outdoor shooting and if there are any good recommended zones (crown land) that are well suited for this sort of activity. (I live in the Montreal area)
My questions are as follows:
-Is it permissible to target shoot outdoors in Quebec, and what by-laws limit this? (Proximity to houses, noise, other limitations)? If so what are good zones/counties where this can be practiced? Preferably close to Montreal area.
-Do you need an outdoors card or small game/hunting tag if you are target shooting?
- Are there restrictions on how many rifles you can take to target shoot? I know for hunting you can only carry one at a time. Is this the same for target shooting?
Any input is greatly appreciated, Thank you,
Best Regards,
Z
