Over thinking for a SR muzzle device?

My upper parts go off to my favourite armorer tomorrow for my SR build.

But what do I tip off the barrel with?

I have a Surefire PROCOMP, but it's huge, cumbersome, and I feel the weight at the end.

Damned if I'm over thinking this.

16.5" Rainier stainless medcon barrel, middy gas.

Will a regular old A2 flash hider be the sufficient fix?

I Use a PWS FCS on a 20" HBAR - felt recoil is like a .22LR. Movement of the sights after the shot breaks is almost non-existent.
I've not compared the weight v. An A2, but I imagine it is negligible.

There is one thing to remember about Service Rifle. A soldier with a stock issue C7 and Elcan handed to him that morning of a match and using the ammo the Queen issued him will beat, with monotonous regularity, a civilian with a tricked out, optically enhanced AR using OCD exact loaded handloads.
Don't overthink it. The troops will kick your butt. They have kicked mine every SR match that they are there. I greatly respect the shooting abilities of this country's troops.

Comparing apples to apples, that same soldier with the tricked out AR, better optics and quality handloads will likely see an improvement on their score over using an issue C7, C79 and C77.

I would clear up that not many of the troops get handed a C7 the morning of the match. Lol. Most of us have had the same rifle for years that has been zeroed meticulously. C77 ammo is probably the best version of SS109 anywhere in the world.
