Got myself a Les Baer Premier ll on order... Now i am looking to order some ammo for it, i all ready have 2K of Norinco 230 gr ball stuff ( shoot ok in my Glock 21 but ....) and did order one K of AE 230 gr FMJ, any suggestion on other ammo that would give good results in the LB... JP.

I too have a Premier 2,great gun,you will love it.

My LB shoots pretty much anything without issues.Looks like it would be a good time to get into reloading, there are huge savings to be had reloading 45 plus you can make better than factory ammo.I load 200gr SWC DRG bullets ahead of Clays powder which is a very accurate load.Definitely outshoots the factory ball ammo.Norinco ammo is fine but dirty and the AE is also OK,but I still prefer my reloads.Ive also reloaded Campro plated 230 gr bullets which duplicate factory ball at a fraction of the cost

Have fun with your new Les BAer

I used to be a lot into reloading but i find it to much time consuming, if i except a few special rifles, id'e rather buy factory these day, i dont say i wont go back to it eventually but i dont really have the drive anymore of spending long hours reloading... JP.

For a premium gun like a LB, I would feed it champagne! Like premium 94 gas for your Porsche! Just makes your psyche feel better!
Awaiting my S&W 1911 now. Cheapo compared to your LB but mine will never see Norc or steel cased cr%p through it.... Unless the zombies are all around me and the only thing between me and them is a crate of cr#p!! Then my snobbiness goes out the window!!

Yep the Dillon 1050 Autodrive ( a must) would be a great asset to my bulk reloading, i will put myself in a shopping stance... Thanks for the tip... JP.

My Thunder Ranch Special will shoot pretty much anything that gets shove down the feed ramp.

Word of advice on the LBs, they are very (VERY) tight when new so just load up mags and shoot it. A lot! Don't bother taking it apart for now. It's a great collection of 1911 you've got going there JP.

I had plans on ordering a Boss 302 model, but a CGN vendor who will remain unnamed for now so now one else buys it before I do as a HEMI 572 model in stock...and well...being a (real) MOPAR car owner myself, I just have too go with the HEMI 572 :) Just waiting to hear back from them on a parital trade I offered them for it...

- Another vote for the progressive press; if the powered 1050 is a trifle rich for your blood, look into the Dillon 650, the Hornady LnL AP, the Lee, RCBS, &c &c - heck, if you mostly shoot just one calibre, a Dillon Square Deal will do you very well indeed and save you a bundle as well. I won't go into gory details, the different presses are covered in fine detail in other forums on the CGN board; but loading for pistol you've gotta have a progressive, just because of how fast you chew-through ammo.

It used to irk me severely; I'd spend two or three hours loading-up a couple hundred rounds, then blast it all off in 20 minutes. Bought a Square Deal and never looked back.

I don't have a LB, but do have a SVI. Generally it gets fed reloads with good quality plated or jacketed bullets. It's difficult to notice the difference between bit between good commercial ammo. Years ago I did have a batch of terrible plated bullets (inconsistent) and that was used as "blasting" ammo because it was noticeably less accurate. But most bullets these days are very good. When reloading, I never use plain lead, don't like handling them when loading, plated are much cleaner. Most are loaded down just a touch, makes practicing easier when firing several hundred rounds and in my case, slightly better accuracy.

Have a Hornady LnL full setup (no autodrive) but would love a Dillon 1050.
