My wife and I went to P&D on thursday to look at optics for our CSA VZ58 with its CSA side rail and short optic mount.
We met Phil and he let us try out a Bushnell TRS-25, Leupold Prismatic and an Eotech XPS 2 on our rifle. The Eotech just happened to be part of a shipment of Eotechs that P&D had received that very day. (The TRS-25s had been received Wednesday and P&D had contacted us about their arrival. When we arrived at P&D we did not know that they had received the Eotechs, so that news was the icing on the cake.)
Because the short optic rail is already high enough to allow the irons to be used beneath it, we needed an optic that sat very low on the rail. Unfortunately, the Eotech was too high for sighting comfort, so, for simplicity's sake, we bought the far less expesive TRS-25, which sits at the perfect height on the rail. As far as I could tell without actually shooting this set-up, the 25's parallax error does not appear significant, especially because it is very easy to keep the dot close to the center of the view through the sight.
Anyway, the reason I'm writing this is to tell everyone about the arrival of an Eotech shipment at P&D, as well as the shipment of TRS-25s the previous day. Phil treated us great, so I thought I'd pass the word about the shipment.
