I see on other threads that finding a sporter stock for the P14/17 are not common. I have been wondering if I could take a mauser 98 synthetic stock and open up the mag area and fit the p14/17 flatten trigger guard and barreled action to the mauser 98 stock. The only concern I have is thinning the inner sides for the wider mag well. Would the sides be to thin?

Funny I'm in the same boat now, and was just wondering the same about using a Synthetic Mauser stock with my P14. :D

Strange timing. :D

Thanks for the heads up on stocks.

I know that Bell & Carlson makes a stock "but" for not for a flattened trigger guard.Just for the military bend trigger guard. So, Manitou210 do you know where I can find one ? In Canada not online down south where can only look at.

Huh? The trigger guard should have no affect on the stock... unless you're talking about the mag-well.

Last I checked, P-17/P-14 sporter stocks (ie: cut-down military stocks) were going for about $25. Check E-bay, they show up all the time.

The P14 and the 1917 trigger guards are quiet different. The 1917 is longer where it radius at the front. Cause a lot of heart burn for us guys that do stock work. What kind of stock are you looking for. PM if you want to discuss your request...I've got a few around.
