I was checking out a P14 with the stock cut back and no top handguards at a local gunshop .
The metal finish is abit worn , more like a patina , but it's in very shootable condition and , thankfully , it has not been cut up.
The price is $150 and there's no budging on the price.( plus 15% frikken sales taxes )
Considering it would take aprox another $200 to restore would this price be about right ?

IMHO the price is top-end for an excellent bubba, and with the 15%, it's overpriced. Handguards and hardware exist, but stocks are very scarce. If you want a miltary P14, don't try to make one up, buy one already in the condition you seek and for $250-300.

If you want a hunting rifle, a bubba'd P14 can make a good one, but better to find one with the "ears" already ground off, scope mounts installed, barrel cut back, and in an aftermarket stock. The same $250-300 should get you one if you are patient.

I'll second what Andy says, every time I put a milsurp together from parts, I'm lucky to break even, if I sell it when it's finished. That doesn't include the time into it. Labour of love only. And it's still a bubba as there aren't any refurb stamps. :( :D bearhunter

Looks like it would be about $400 for a refurnished P14 :|
Prob is , they ain't getting any cheaper :?
What would a P14 go for in original , good , condition ?

Nope
A rifle , ammo or the receiver will need the permit/licence to get it across the border .
No probs with stocks or bits and pieces or bayo's...yet.
