Hi
I am restoring a P14 sporter, back to full mil wood.

I have sourced the stock and I think I have all the metal work now, (last pieces are in post)

looking at photos online, I have now noticed a strengthening screw/bolt ? just forward of the magazine, in the stock

do they all have these ?

the current sporter stock doesn't have one

any comments/thoughts ?

cheers J

There is a bolt/screw just forward of the magazine with a flat head nut - it reinforces the recoil shoulder in the wood stock. There is also a threaded brass rod that passes through the stock behind the magazine and forward of the trigger. There is also a solid pin that passes through the fore arm, just ahead of the lower band, which projects slightly on each side to hold the lower band in place against the sling tension.
