So, I have three m1917 ejectors that the little integral spring leaf arm has broken off. A well known "hack", since the 1950's at least, was a couple dremel slots and a coil spring as a replacement. Numrich used to offer such a thing for sale, but I can no longer find even a picture of it on their site - was "out of stock" last time I had found it there, and they apparently do not ship to Canada these days, anyways.

So, picture below was taken from somewhere on Internet - maybe Numrich site, I do not remember. What I am hoping is that someone can give specific recommendations for that spring - diameter? spring strength? A decent place to get half a dozen? and what specifically would I be looking for? And, sorry - suggesting "from a ball point pen" is very much less helpful information than I am looking for - the only ball point pens I have are Bics, and they do not have springs...

Bumping this thread from many moons ago. I did finally come to have what must be one of the versions that were sold by Numrich. Contrary to what I thought, as per picture below, they were not made from milsurp ejectors - can see the lower body of it is much thicker / wider. All shown are for the Model of 1917 rifle - some folk refer to it as a P17 - so a useable, functional one with integral spring at the top, centre one is a milsurp with all so common broken off leaf spring and bottom is the modified one that must have been sold by Numrich or someone similar - not a mod to a milsurp ejector, as I had thought... Camera perspective is altering the view of them - they are exactly the same, if you align the screw hole and the nose - at least along the "back line" and back end to front end.
