Story is I have a sportered 7.62 No.4, The barrel was cut down and ground into the rough shape to fit the standard front sight. I was thinking of having the ground down part nipped and a front sight properly attached. I like the look of the P14/M1917 front sight and I figure the sporter would look good with it.
Thing I was concerned with would be the sight plane. Would a P14/m1917 sight work with a standard rear sight?
