hi guys, which one is worth more and/or more desirable in collection? p17 in 30-06 or in 303 brit? why the same gun has 2 different cals? thx.

It's not!

P17 is .30-06
P14 is .303 British

P14 was made first, in the US because Britain needed more rifles then she could make herself. P14 is a british design annd probably would of replaced the SMLE had the war not started when it did.

When the US entered WW1 they did not have enough Springfield 03's to go around so the retooled the P14 production lines to .30-06 and called it the p17
