P17 triggers

The Timney is about as good as you are going to get for the Enfield. nI have used the Dayton Traister trigger but found it less adjustable than the Timney but some prefer it because less wood is removed on custom big bores.

If you don't mind the having the trigger shoe at the back of bow,you can tap a screw so you only shoot off the last hump. I switched over to Timmey triggers in mine.But I have D-T in a mauser that's great.
 
I've used both the Timney and the Dayton-Traistor, and I have to disagree. I actually prefer the Dayton trigger. I find that it is cleaner and crisper.
 
Do you guys remember the model number for the Timney's for a straightened bottom metal on a M17? Their website lists a model 110 for the 5 shot, and a model 111 for the 6 shot? I'm just checking.
 
I have a Timney on my P14, and it is quite good. I find the military triggers to be crappy at best, so the change is a welcome upgrade. Regards, Eagleye.
 
The trigger on my P14 is the stock military one, but it's been polished up and made to work very nicely. I think I'll leave it as is, but I'll try a Timney on my M17 and a DT on my other P14. I'll post later what I've found to work nicer, smoother, etc. etc.. and so on.
I'm from the school where if it's not broke, why fix it? But then, I love tuning the toys I have.
