P2000 first FTE, weak ammo

I'm breaking in my P2000 (still under 500 rounds) and today I had my first FTE with it. Casings stuck in slide, slide wouldn't lock back. Happened multiple times.

I noticed it was with American Eagle 115gr. Years ago when I had a Glock 17 it also had FTE with 115 gr AE but was ok with 124gr and up.

I had no problems with the gun with some 124gr Norinco 9mm (basically 9mm NATO specs) and some hot South African Ammo.

I just bought some S&B 115gr, is this stuff more hot than American Eagle 115gr. Also does any one know if any store is carrying 124gr 9mm ammo??
 
usually you say what area you are in so people can be more of a help but here goes
P&D enterprises carries 124 and 147
milarm has most times but not sure about right now
 
Oops, yes I"m in Edmonton.

I picked up the s&B from P&D, and some 147gr winchester leadfree and some hot Serbian ammo from Milarm...$$$$ at milarm however.
 
I would personally expect that Chech ammo to be a little hotter than american made civilian consumer ammo, a little closer to NATO standard which is apparently +P but according to a website (american eagle?) I just visited, the speed for AE 115 gr is 1400 FPS and that's faster than any reload I've been able to make. I wouldn't have expected it to give any issues in any pistol, I find that odd is all.
 
I really doubt the 115 FMJ going 1400fps. Even the +p+ 115 JHP don't go that fast.

I've always found that AE 115gr. FMJ is very soft in recoil. The 124 gr FMJ has a bit more 'oomph' and seems to cycle new guns or guns with strong recoil springs adequately. The foreign stuff is hot and is 100% reliable with any gun I own.
 
Yeah, I thought it was a bit much too. I remember looking up the winchester 115 gr stuff at 1200 fps. I couldn't imagine getting another 200 fps out of the round. I don't know, it said it here h ttp://www.aeagle1.com/framespage.html but who knows how reliable that is.
 
usually after the recoil spring is worked in,..it gets better. Try racking the gun to help facilitate wear. The extractor should be ok at 500rds,...for an HK,..I would suggest 1000+ to clean the extractor hook,...then maybe detailed cleaning at 2000-3000rds. I usually shoot 147gr combat masters 9mm out of my HK and sometimes 124gr...PF varies from 134-137.
 
I checked on HKPro forums.

Apparently this is very common in the P2000 as the spring is very strong, rated for 9mm NATO and apparently the guide rod/spring/buffer system is good for about 40K rounds before replacing.

I received 4 recoil spring assemblies from Wolverine after about a year of waiting. Looks like I'm set for about 200K rounds!!!!
