I've got a P220 I want to use for PPC. I want to get the trigger as close as I can to 3.5# and smoothen it up! Is this a DIY spring and polish kinda thing. or should I be looking at shipping it to a smith?

You can reduce the trigger pull by changing the factory 22 lbs trigger spring to a 17 lbs spring from Wolf Gunspring, that will lower the weight to about 3.5 lbs or so.

To make the DA and SA action smoother, you'll need to detail strip the pistol, polish and remove all burrs on the hammer; sear; trigger bar; hammer strut...etc, there are video on u tube to show how to complete disassemble/re-assemble the 220, its certainly not that difficult if you have some experiences working on guns and handy with tools, hope this help.
