This is a bit of a gripe and a "where to buy" post. First the gripe. I have the P226 TacOps and of course the grip has the extended mag well on it. Problem, none of the mags have base pads, nor did the gun even come with base pads for the mags, so it is difficult to slap another mag in without hurting your hand on the bottom of the grip.

Soooo... where can I find some of these base pads large enough that they either sit flush or slightly lower than the grips mag well?

It's because the tac opps is suppose to come with 20 rnd mags but here in wonderful Canada they didn't. Assuming a 9mm, if a .40 then 15 rnd I do believe.

But you can order the 20's capped at 10 through Questar

Also FYI in the US it came with 4 of those mags. You would think up here they could spring for at least 2 of the restricted to 10 round versions.

If they ever get any...

Stock: Accepting Advance Orders ----- for the past 3 years!

Good point, I ordered a gun 9-10 months ago and no sign of it either, I was more or less just letting him know what mags he needs and the only place I've seen them listed.

You didn't get the correct 20/10 mags w/basepads with your pistol

I am really surprised that people actually order things with no delivery estimate in the firearms business.

This is beginning to make sense.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get the base pads than to order entire magazines? Since I have 4 and don't wish to replace them, I'd rather either get the pads or just replace the grip.

It's a bit of a bubba solution but it might help till you can source something better; hockey pucks. The solid one's cut and sand nicely and you can just glue them on or countersink for screws. The soft practice pucks are more spongey so it's hard to impossible to get a perfectly smooth finish but they work pretty well also.

Been looking, didn't find any in Canada.
Brownells has them but this specific part cannot be shipped to Canada

'Not sure if this is what you're after or if they will even work, but, Beretta 92 "padded"/ or thick mag base pads work on the Sig226 mags.

Yup, I tried it tonight and sure enough those Beretta rubber mag base fit perfectly on the 226 mags. It'll extend your mags by 1/2".

I've had a tac opps 9mm for 3 years now. And I'm still waiting for wolverine to help me acquire the correct bases!!

The 'base pad' is actually a plus two extension that will increase the capacity of your 10 round mags to 12 rounds.

I know it is. Thx bro however I would still like the proper base plat for the tac opps. And if need re pin it to 10.

Looks like this with the Beretta rubber base pad.
