P226 Mec-Gar mags?

I had a whole bunch, they worked fine. Fed and loaded with ease. I did have 5 x 10/15's that I preferred use.

Two reasons, one, they loaded alot easier, and two, solid baseplate. On the 10 rounders they have a hollow plastic baseplate. The the 15 rounders its a solid metal magazine. During a 3 gun match I dropped a magazone on the floor and the baseplate cracked (magazine had like 5 rounds left or something, so it had some weight in it) Where as with the 15's I had no worries.

That being said, for static range usage, give er.

I will soon be getting a Sig p226 and was wondering about the quality of Mec-Gar mags. I've used .45 Mec-gar mags in IPSC and have never had a problem with them. I just need to know if their p226 mags will hold up to abuse.

Thanks in advance guys.

They are the best!
That is what I use in my 226 for matches

all you need to know right there.

I did drop one of the bench at the range on concrete and the base cracked. I also dropped them during ipsc on concrete when reloading and they were fine, maybe it was the stress from repeat drops that cracked the plastic

Mec-Gar used to be the supplier of all OEM mags to Sig. They work great and are much more desireable than the Pro-Mags that Sig has switched to.
They still provide mags to many different manufacturers and my new PPQ came with Mec-Gar mags.

Mec Gar are the best mags you can get for the gun. The ones with the plastic base are great, don't think you want to drop them too many times. Yes Mec Gar used to make the OEM mags for Sig, now Checkmate Industries makes them. Some of you know the stiff grey mags that they ship with now. I sold all my checkmate mags and bought Mec Gar's, easier on the fingers and actually look better in the gun.

Marstar has some of the Nickel mags left, others are sold out.
