Hey guys. Bought a p229 elite dark from one of our supporting dealers. But received this:

it shows this pic on the website (and every other p229 elite I have and seen looks like this):

Any thoughts? Its almost like someone put an elite slide on a normal E2 sig frame with no beaver tail if you ask me..
 
No rail either. Is it used? Looking at the pics, it appears to be. Threaded BBl looks good, though. Lately, I've been thinking of trying to hunt one down for my 229. In my opinion, if it had a rail, I'd say you got a pretty cool gun. If I could find an elite or fully serrated rear slide for my 229 I'd take it in a second. That being said, I'd be pissed if I got a gun I wasn't expecting.

Looks like an enhanced elite, not dark elite. It's more $ for the dark. All elites come with short reset trigger your should have that as well.
 
yes it has srt, it was advertised as a dark elite. but this one has no adjustable sights, no aluminum grips, no rail which leads me to believe it was advertised wrong. I contacted the dealer. Will see what happens.

IMHO, Pretty big mix up on the sellers end. Hope it all gets sorted out for you.
 
Looks like a 229 SAS Gen 2 which have E2 grips and no rail, however it should be printed on the slide (and it doesn't appear to be)... Threaded barrel is normal as the US 3.9" barrel won't fly here. Sig case should tell you the model. I think you have an older model or a non-US model... :confused:

That is a Sig E29-9-SER-TB,they arent cataloged,no picture was given out from Sig,originally released a batch of them Dec 2012 and again this spring,if you look on gunbroker.com you will see a bunch of them

Some have had E2 Grip,Standard Trigger,some Poly Grips and Short Trigger,US Frames and made in Germany Frames

All have been ,Non Rail,Elite Slide w/Threaded Barrel,some sellers in US that use the Americas Largest Firearms Mall have a picture of an Elite Dark w/ Threaded Barrel listed for this Model,others like Buds dont show any Photo of them

Someone on SigForum ordered one thinking they would get a Railed,BeaverTail,AL Grip Elite Dark and received the Pistol you did,it is very misleading if you think you are getting what is Pictured

They sell for $150.00 or so, less in the US than and Elite Dark Threaded

the retailer is willing to take it back I think so its fine. Im having some bad luck lately, first a beat up dirty gun that was supposed to be new, then this. I was having better luck on EE as scary as that sounds lol.

Who did you buy from (think I know anyway). I think this is a pretty big screw-up with a sponsor not selling you the right model gun. Glad to see that they are taking it back, but you'll probably be out shipping both ways... Still a nice gun, if you like it ask them to knock off the retail price difference and keep it.
