Anyone collect p38 pistols and accessories? Ww2 holsters, post war holsters etc Anyone have the post
war holster hangers?

I have a Russian Capture P38, and a couple post war Flecktarn holsters, and some Flecktarn webbing. I am looking into buying an all-matching P38 sometime and a P1 to go with them.

CanadianAR--When I saw your bml 44 holster it reminded me of one that I bought from FGS in Ohio back in 2003---WaA23

Hans Romer,Fabrik Fur Heeresausrustung, Neu-Ulm, Donau,
Bayern--(code) “bml”

I don’t believe that FGS is still in business---I also bought some P.38 magazines from them ---double spine marked E/ 539 Walther mags.

Years ago I collected difficult to find P.38 holsters.
Here are a couple of 1943 dated P.38 soft shell holsters with the upward closing strap.
Codes gxy and fkx.

The P.38 shown is an ac42.

The holster looks to be in unissued condition, and was probably part of a stock of holsters found in a warehouse in the Ukraine or Latvia.

As a point of interest this is what this holster cost in Oct 2003 from FGS in Ohio.
Oct 2 2003 arrived by U.P.S Oct 14 2003.
$125 US plus $10 shipping plus $38.35cdn for customs P.S.T

FGS brought in alot of stuff from the Eastern Block back then.

I noticed in a old gun catalog there were P38/P1 pistols for sale and there was the option for one in 30 luger. I know it would be a post war production one but I am wondering if anyone has one or has seen one?

Walther used to be sold by a guy in Victoria. I purchased many guns from him. Allen Lever bought many Danish Police
p38 pistols with all of the ww2 German assy. He also had two blank firing training guns. I bought the exc condition one.
Robinsons in Victoria also had many p38 and 1911 colts.

David,

By my calculations, your holster cost you $225 canadian in 2003. This bml I actually traded for. I had a mint gxy1944 which is slightly harder to get. I paid $247 for the gxy including everything. So they havent moved a whole lot.

CanadianAR I have been out of the loop for a number of years regarding values for P.38 holsters.
FGS was a major dealer for unissued Russian capture German holsters back in the early 2000s.
The 1945 and 1944 ‘gxy’ coded holsters shown below probably came from FGS.
They belong to Leon De Spain (North Texas) and are from his web site. (He has some great pieces.)

The comments on top of the photos are his comments.

1945 holster made by Gebruder-Klinge Lederwarenfabrik who used the military code of gxy. 1945 dated holsters were quite rare until the Russian captured holsters started coming in a few years ago. They are more common now but still desireable.

A gxy 1944 brown soft shell holster. gxy made a lot of holsters in 1944 and
they are quite common but one made of brown leather instead of black leather
is rather difficult to find.

This is the sweetheart holster. (IMHO)
This is a gxy 1943 brown soft shell P.38 holster. Brown soft shells are scarce but when you add the fact that the closure strap attaches upward instead of downward this holster is probably rare.
(I have one of these gxy WaA706 marked 1943 dated P.38 soft shell holsters with the upward closure strap but it is not brown and in this superb condition.)
The P.38 soft shell holster was not officially adopted until 1944--so 1943 dated holsters are definitely less common.
