Like the title says, my personal grip and fit aside, what would people reccomend who have owned or do own these pistols? I dont compete, so it would just be a paper puncher, and a steel ringer. I am looking to upgrade my 9mm, and have kind of settled on these two striker fired. Open to any other suggestions in their price range as well. Thanks

You’re going to find more after market support for the Glock in terms of accessories, spare parts, mags and holsters.

It’s a tough call between the two. The P99 is “ old tech” now but still a great pistol.
You really need to try them yourself. There’s nothing bad I can really say about either pistol.

I'll put in a plug for the P99. If you are looking for a paper puncher, and you don't compete, the P99 has a great SA trigger and is a very accurate package.

Agreed. I like Glocks OK (although I've not tried a 19X) but the P99 is a more refined pistol—I enjoy mine in .40 more than I thought I would.

P99.

A stock Glock 19 is smaller than P99 but with the G17 grip on G19X and threaded barrel, P99 is smaller and more accurate due to superb trigger and excellent barrels.

I'd go P99 if you don't plan on doing any aftermarket upgrades. The G19x will have way better aftermarket support. Another gun to consider is the PPQ Navy. It's the 4" slide with a 4.6" threaded barrel.
