Pac-nor barrels

I have had fitted 4 Pac-Nor barrels over the past 10 years, two-6.5mm,(6.5x55 & 264 Win Mag) 1-7mm,(7mm STW) and 1-308.(300 Win Mag) All have been awesome performers, and have cleaned up easily as well. Additionally, Chris at Pac-Nor is a great guy to deal with and is quite knowledgeable. Buy with confidence. Regards, Eagleye.

first custom I had Bill Leeper put together was a 7-08AI on a Sako L579 with a PacNor barrel.....it shot well under an inch while fireforming brass from 140 gr Rem factory CoreLoct loads......I think a PacNor will shoot.

I had a .338wm built with a Pacnor ss super match grade barrel.

I've only got a couple of hundred rounds through it so far but it seems pretty accurate. On a good day I can get the holes to touch.

Definitely would buy another.

I've had Pac-Nors' in 223AI, 6.5-06, 284 Win and 358 Norma. All installed by Bill Leeper. They are simply a great barrel.

What i can't say in any certainty is if they are any better than a Shilen or Kreiger or Gaillard or ??

Rick, I don't think anyone can. I'm convinced that the majority of decent barrel makers are so close in quality that a run one day that is "the best" could change by the next day. The only thing you can go by is long term consistancy, I think. And PacNor makes great barrels (and have a new 20mm one coming out for us big bore fans, whoo hoo!). - dan

Dan, agreed.

I am convinced that a good gunsmith doing the install is worlds more important than the name on the barrel.

How do you rate it? I have a Gaillard with a M700 MR contour that is more accurate, barely, than the 2 Pac-Nor's I own. And I have a 20 year old Shilen that will outshoot them all. And it's a sporter weight 257 Roberts AI on a 50 year old P-64 action; just think how it could do on a modern rifle! ;)

Which is better? Hell if I know...

i had a 28" really heavy pacnor in 300 WM put on my stevens 200 build buy jason at gunco *awsome guy to deal with BTW*
went from 1 moa @ 100 to just under .5 moa @ 100. i am quite happy with it considering i havent done any accuracy mods to the firearm yet still need to bed it and replace the trigger
