Does anyone know if an adapter is required to swap a Pachmayr Decelerator from a Ruger 77 MkII laminated stock to a MkII synthetic stock? The holes in the decelerator pad don't line up with the holes molded into the hollow synthetic stock. Should I just drill new holes in the pad or does this require another style pad? Thanks for any light you can shed on this matter.

Check the MkII synthetic stock to see if you can epoxy an inner to screw into from the holes that are in the pad. It may also take the hollow feel away from the stock . Their may be way better ways to attack this problem, one just does not come to mind right now. :D

The new synthetic, or the older one? The older one needs the adapter, and I believe a different pad. Try Sims, I think the pad they make for the older synthetic is better looking, and fitting.
I would NOT drill new holes in the pad....but thats just me

It's the new style M77 MkII, double gun. Google to the rescue ;) Pachmayr makes synthetic stock pad adapters and Wholesale Sports actually lists them. Whether or not they have them in stock is another story ;) The saga continues...
*edited* to add...Wholesale has them is stock :)eek: ) so I ordered a couple :D
