Pachmayr Grips - Warning!

See picture below, after installing the new grips, the screw holding the Pachmayr medallion backed out after a few rounds. It was my good fortune that it fell clear of the pistol and was found. I doubt that this could have been a health risk to myself, but could have ruined a pistol that I am rather attached to. I have since reassembled with a touch of blue loctite.

Email to retailer and manufacturer to follow.

Regards Randall

It's easy to fix, but I agree - they should stop making them. These grips were even worse in the past actually.
I like most of their products though. Never had any problems. Thanks for sharing.

If it is well known, one would think a responsible retailer would give customers a heads up, live and learn I guess.

What happened to buyer beware and educating yourself on a product before you buy? With the internet there's no excuse for ignorance. As a side note, all threads should be dabbed with loctite.

Can anyone tell me where to get a set of american legend grips? I've had black finger groove pachmayr grips on my 1911 for 5 years and they've held up good through thousands of rounds but would love a set of these ones.
