I was bored having the same looking XCR as everyone else, so I bought some spraypaint. I did this project at the same time as I made the Snipler (tm pending!)

Paint layers went:
White primer
grey in camo pattern
Tan in camo pattern
Black sprayed over netting.
matte urethane for protection (but makes it a little glarey in photos)

Here are the results. Overall I'm happy, though the mag got smudged when I thought it was dry and it wasn't (other side of mag is way better), and the grip is a little darker on the side I photos. Also, the XTR panels are a ##### to put together after painting. I should have put them 1/2 way together, then painted them. BTW, found out the hard way that no rail cover works with the AFG-1. The XTRs are just held in place by gravity for photos only. I ordered an AFG2 for the final project.

Will be doing 2 more variations on other rail covers, grips and AFGs, just because I have all this paint left and need to do something with it.

Due to lighting, it's hard to see the detail in some angles, so here are three pics, one with the flash on.

The white in this picture is not white that I missed, it's reflected light.

See my nice fingerprint smudges on the magazine? Sigh.
