I just aquired a free scope. It is a cheapy TC 3-12x40 in Realtree camo. I figured I would try mount it to my AR but it is quite fugly so I decided I might paint it black to match my gun. Is this a good idea? Any suggestions on what type of paint to use? How do I avoid having the magnification rings from sticking/unable to turn? Any input would be appreciated.
