Painting Beaver Barf Furniture?

Good video!
It makes me angry that a silly technicality caused these to be banned. Apparently CZ welded up the new, unassembled receivers and then re-machined them as semi-auto only. A Canadian-legal 18.6" barrel was added and they were imported as non-restricted. After a ton were sold in Canada, the RCMP suddenly revisited the classification and decided that the VZ 858 was a converted auto, thus prohibited. I think the project was started by Wolverine Supply in Manitoba, but I'm not sure. I do know that they were a distributor of the rifles. I think I paid around $700 and they make the SKS look like Barney Rubble's rifle.

What we need is a company like Maple Ridge Armoury to produce a new semi-auto only receiver for these guns and offer a conversion service. I think the barrel is pressed in and maybe pinned, so a conversion would not be a DYI project like MRA's Renegade or Maverick rifles.
Anyone else agree? I think there are thousands lurking in Canadian safes.

Another idea would be for a Canadian company to import newly manufactured receivers from the Czech Republic to install in place of the prohib ones. See the link in the post below.

As others have said, it is a composite material made up of coarsely chopped pieces of wood in a glue/binder of some sort.

The stock in question:

Oh wow! I can see why you'd want to paint it. I once had the idea to hydrodip an OSB pattern onto one of my guns. Seeing that, I'm glad I didn't.
