On snipershide there are very good threads on painting rifles with krylon.
Really some good looking jobs, and can be touched up easily.

pistol

not looking at painting a rifle.
I am looking to refinish a 1911 pistol and don't want anything bought at an automotive store. Any suggestions.
I have done a mossy 500 in bbq paint and turned out quite well, but for this looking at higher end stuff.

DuraCoat makes a product called DuraBake Enamel that comes in aerosol cans. It's only available in a few basic colours and has to be baked after application but there shouldn't be a problem with them shipping it across the border. Fair warning - it'll be pricey and the shipping charges won't help any either!
