Has anyone has success painting over cerakote? I have a MDT LSS chassis in FDE and would like to change it to semigloss or flat black but don't want to put the cost of a new chassis into it having it professionally redone.

Has anyone rattle canned over cerakote without it pealing or scratching easy and staying on, if so what did you use for paint?

Soak the part in acetone to remove all oils and spray it with Krylon or Tremclad. The finish will not nearly as durable as the CeraKote is but the parts can be re-sprayed when they start to show wear in the paint.

Thanks, that was kinda what I was thinking of doing just wasn't sure how it would stick, and like you said can always touch it up over time if need be.
