I'm about to paint up a USGI M14 stock. I have Krylon Primer and base coat (flat black camo). I have been wondering about the clear coat, though. I want to keep the finish matt. I have been seeing posts that say to use matt clear, but what type and/or brand. I've been thinking about water based clear non-gloss varathane. Will that work? What types have you guys been using?

Per the guru:

Excel Colorvision Matte Clearcoat available at Rona Lansing.

That's what I used. Pretty tough stuff.
