Well, over the past 6-8 months I've been working on 2 projects. Ended up with a pair of pretty nice guns IMO. I wanted to have a gun for myself and one that my wife could comfortably shoot and carry as well. I ended up with a .260 and a 30-06, both in Remington Mountain Rifle config.
The first, a Rem 700 Mtn Stainless bedded in a Wildcat Composites stock from RMR, topped with Talley Lightweights and a Bushnell 3-9x40 Legend. The scope is scheduled for a change by Spring to a Leupold.
The second, a Rem 700 Mtn Stainless in a Rem Ti stock, with Talley Lightweights and a Leupold VXIII 3.5-10x40.
Both guns shoot great, and I'll provide some range reports once I get out and shoot them off the bench. The .260 is a dream to shoot and I think I've just fell in love with this calibre. Its fun, accurate, and I think will make great deer, sheep, and antelope medicine, with the odd elk tossed in if needed for my wife.
Sorry, just had to post these up as I'm pretty proud of my matching pair or Mountain Rifles!!
