PAL and RPAL Together?

I am wondering how to best approach this, as I am trying to get my PAL/RPAL. As of right now, I have passed the PAL test, and will be taking the RPAL test in a couple weeks. I don't have a licence right now, so should I wait till I get my RPAL test and send them in together, or just apply for the PAL now, and apply for the RPAL later?

Does it cost money to re-class my licence at a later date? Will applying for the PAL/RPAL together take longer, or the same amount of time?

Any advice/experiences would be helpful!

Now, I'm in Ontario, and myself and a friend took the gun course together. I was going for my RPAL (already had PAL) and my friend was getting his PAL only... I've had my license for a week (took about 2 1/2 mths) and he hasn't got his yet. I think it's just plain random.

Just a quick question - and I don't mean to derail your thread - Are there any time-delay differences between a PAL and a RPAL? Do they take the same amount of time in general or is the wait on an RPAL longer? (I know what it says ... mandatory 28-day etc. But in reality is there any difference?)

the biggest hold up with applying for a RPAL is the ability to interview your referances. The harder they are to reach the longer the RPAL will take. But still 28 days is not uncommon

For rpal, both your references will have to be called. After the cfo received my application (showed up on website), both my references were called about a week later. Even though they were interviewed so early my license was still mailed out on day 29, received it about day 35 i think. So I would say as long as you references are easily reached there is no difference in processing time between a pal and a rpal.

If you want a gun quick, send the pal in first. You have to get references again and another picture for the rpal later. The best option is to send them in together, its less headache and it will be done.
