Hello all Dads FYI
I do not know if this has been covered eslewhere, and I have only recently learned this. After the 45 day waiting period you [Dad] have to call the firearms centre 1-800-731-4000 and get the number for the firearms officer for your province.
You then call this number and set up an interview for yourself your child and the F/O officer If you live near a major centre it is in person if you live in a rural area it is like a teleconferance. Pretty much a formality and very laid back but not something I was expecting.

Pretty sure this doesn't apply to Alberta, Cause me and my buddy went for our minors permits and he got his paperwork in before me (about a month) so when his paperwork went through and they just called his house and asked his parents if they knew he was up to this and alls they had to say was yes and he was good to go. Should be getting that call any day now, I'll tell you how it goes.

Can your parents be your references or the immediate relatives will not do? What other details are different in applying for minor licence in compare to regular process? Will the process be different for only PAL or RPAL/PAL together? Is this a mandatory waiting period (45 days for minors) or the process can be faster if parents call the CFO around 28 days period? Thanks.
