Pal completion forms

Hey,

I completed my PAL course over Halloween weekend, was told the class's completion papers would be sent out that week, were now nearing mid december and my "self addressed envelope" with my results enclose have not come yet.

Any idea when they will arrive? I wouldn't mind getting my whole PAL application process moving

?? I don't get it. The PAL course ends with a written exam and hands-on test. You should be marked right there and then and be told pass or fail right then and there AND get all of the supporting documentation of your pass to forward along to get your PAL right then and there. There should be NO wait from your Instructor in getting this info into your hands, it should be immediate.

Call your course provider and ask when the papers were sent to the CFO for stamping. The CFO mails them directly to you in their own envelopes. Mine had my address hand written on it, with 2 copies of my PAL course (and 2 copies of my RPAL course). I sent 1copy (of each) along with my application to Mirimichi. The second copy is for your records. Mine took 3 weeks after the course was finished to arrive at my home.

Remember that the papers will take 3-5 days to get to the CFO, then need 2-4 weeks at their office to get through the system, followed by another week to get to you. It's a slow system here in Ontario. We were told in our class that the CFO must stamp them because there were inspectors who were passing students who had failed their written tests. We can thank them for adding all this waiting time.

Except the Ontario CFO is a D@#khead and because of suspicion of fraudulent test results they have to sign off on your results before you can send them to NB.

In Ontario, unfortunately, we are "told" the results of the tests, verbally.
The tests are sent to the Ontario CFO for stamping.
This takes between two weeks to a few months for some.
When you get your "CFO-stamped" test results, this is when you're supposed to send in your complete application.
How to shorten PAL approval times, is a thread that has all the tricks to do what its title says.

I'm also waiting for my test results. I took the course the first weekend in Nov. However, I've already send in my application (sans test results) in order to shorten my waiting time. My 28 day waiting period will be done next week... and yet here I sit, waiting for my test results...

Well OK then, I once again am ammazed at how difficult things are for firearms owners back East. Wow, just .. wow.

I still don't get it though .. how is sending the paper work to the CFO to stamp it make fraud less likely? I know .. it doesn't have to make sense but still .. can not an unscrupulous instructor still just fill out the test results as a pass and the same for the practical test and send them along to be stamped?

I have been waiting for the stamped results for over a month now. Funny that it takes this long to send out an application, stamp it, then send it out. If you were expecting to get the license for Christmas you can forget about it!
