PAL Reference Questions

I just saw a post where a reference for a PAL application was asked to speculate why the applicant wanted firearms and the response was something like, "I guess for self defense."
The two individuals never discussed why the applicant was filing and if they had, the reference never would have responded with that answer. Needless to say the applicant is concerned about what will happen next.
This thread is to collect questions asked by CFC of references so that answers to these speculative questions can be discussed by applicants and references.
My reference told me that he was asked whether he had ever witnessed me getting angry or exhibited violent behaviour and whether or not I used drugs, don't know if he was asked why I wanted a PAL.

I was in the same room when they called my friend "reference for my PAL" and they pretty much asked the same things.Like, is he the type to lose his temper, has he ever commited any bad in the past, do you think he is a responsible citizen, ETC.

I wouldn't worry about it though. I'm sure you are using people you know and trust as references. There won't be any questions that they won't know or that they couldn't answer without compromising you; Unless you do indeed have stuff to hide
