First off, I'd like to say thanks to IRUNGUNS for bringing this rifle into Canada and for their lightning fast service! It wasnt so long ago when a Norc was the only sub $1000 AR! Just added a Magpul rear flip up sight, and I was ready to go.

I took it to the range today and zero'd it in at 50 yards with some Remington UMC from SFRC. I also ordered some PMC X-TAC and picked up the Winchester White Box at Lebaron to compare. This is the first rifle I have ever zero'd in, and I was really impressed with the accuracy of this rifle. I bought the most of the UMC, but looks like Ill be switching to the White Box stuff. They got some Barnaul steel cased stuff I would be interested to try too.

I also have a PSA M4 AR and I am quite pleased with it. From what I have read on the various websites, the PSA are very good value for the money. I previously had DPMS and Norinco AR's but I like this one the best. I just got the Vortex Strikefire and haven't had a chance to zero it yet.

Hurry up and wait.

That's good news, guys.
Still waiting for my Transfer to be approved; I ordered on the 8th, the RCMP snailmailed me on the 12th (I received it on the 20th) stating that they wanted me to FAX a copy of my Field & Stream Club membership (why didn't they just ask me for it on the application??). I FAXed them my membership card the same day... Ach, it's only been 17 days, just feels like longer.
That's OK, it took them 5 months to renew my PAL, and just 11 weeks to approve my RPAL, so maybe they're getting better at moving things along....

If I get to the point of actually buying an AR, I wish to have a longer barrelled one of good quality in hopes of tighter groups. To me the fact that it's restricted or non-restricted is meaningless versus accuracy. And I would want to have the preferred ammunition in hand already according to the manufacuturer's recommendations.
I would not begrudge paying more for one example if I get what I want.

I've seen too many short Norc's fed the Chinese steel cased ammo to last me a lifetime!

If I had bought one twenty years ago I suspect I would have chosen an Olympic Arms in 222 or 6x45mm.
These internet days, I think more along the lives of a longer barrelled Bushmaster rifle or a Stag Arms AR set up for 77 grain Sierra MatchKings or something else much like that, specifically for long range target shooting.

I suspect the OP will be happy with his own AR choice. I applaud anyone's efforts for higher quality goods!

Cheers

Just took mine out to the range today for the first time, functioned flawlessly with the exception of a single norinco round which required a second strike. Just shot at 25m unsupported today so I can't say too much about accuracy but I will post a full report at a later date when I stretch it out to 300m.

Overall very satisfied with my purchase, can't wait to shoot it more this fall.

Looking forward to seeing your report! I am hoping to get it out to the range this Saturday and do some more shooting with my Remington UMC. I also got some American Eagle black box and Barnaul 55gr coming which should be in sometime next week. Looking forward to seeing how it shoots, although I dont think I want to throw too much of that bimetal cased stuff downrange with a stainless steel barrel.

Just got back from the range, tried the American Eagle AR223 black box stuff and 55 gr Barnaul 223. The American Eagle was somewhere in between the Winchester and the Remington. The Barnaul was a tad worse than the Remington, but not by much. So far my ranking of ammo is as follows:

1. PMC X-TAC 62gr
2. Winchester White Box 55gr
3. American Eagle AR223 55gr
4. Barnaul 223 55gr
5. Remington UMC 55gr

Looking forward to trying a few other kinds before winter hits!

Glad to see you are enjoying your new rifle! IMHO both PSA and Aero Precision make excellent quality firearms for very competitive prices. We can bring in more PSA stuff..
