The Palmetto Wesson Percussion Muzzle Loading Rifle 45cal. Reproduction of a rifle originally made by J.P.Foster of Bristol, Rhode Island. Did anyone ever have one of the reproductions? how was the quality?
Some came with a false muzzle and bullet starter.

I ve heard the quality was on good side,I believe some(normally the 45cal) had a fast twist intended for a bullet but the 50 versions had a 1in 66 twist for round ball.My 62 cal R.J. Renner with the allen box lock action looks similar to the wesson. The Allan box lock kit from petticonia long rifle looks like it would be a fairly easy kit to put together and would give you a broader choice in calibers.

How does the 62 handle? how long is the barrel?

ha! funny - I had sent them an email a few days ago asking about the box lock actions - they do ship to Canada, but are on backorder at the moment.... :)

I see that the gun works muzzle loader emporium has 5 different styles of the Allen Box Lock. @275.00 USD each
Pectonica River Long Rifle Supply has the same style of action as the small percussion listed from the Emporium with the hawken trigger guard.

I was going to find the Allen Foundry in MN and see if they will sell direct?
