Ok guys i have a chance at a para expert (not the gi) for what i think is a good price. This is new in the box. Where does it stack up against the following:
norc
sam
ria
remington
kimber
sti
did i miss any?

What do you think?

I have a expert in 9mm I changed the 80 series trigger out to 70 series got a 3.5 trigger pull clean and breaks like glass mounted a dot sight, magwell VZ grips Briley racker etc . Shoots like a bandit makes a great pin gun. the stock ramped barrel is great. I paid $600 new and this thing has been trouble free and cycles and shoots right along with my STI's and Caspian's don't be afraid of it.

You need to change the hammer and sear to 70 series and use the spacer plate that Brownell sells the spacer plate is cheap a couple of bucks .The hammer and sear prices are up and down depends what you are looking for the 80 series is cut different from the 70. I have a 16-40 Para with a 80 series I got away with a adjustment on the sear spring ended up with a clean 4 lb pull you may want to try that but the 80 series is not easy to get a good trigger I got lucky on that one .

I don't really put much faith when manufactures say "match grade" not hard to say there when there isn't an industry standard for "match grade". Para used to be good however now I find them to be more of lottery gun unless something has changed in the last few years.

^^ Why would you need to swap the sear and hammer?
The 80 series does not have the double sear if the hammer get banged or dropped the gun will or could discharge the 80 series uses a firing pin block which you remove in the conversion . I myself would not take the chance . As to the other post my Para Match grade barrels are shooters and on par with any STI , Nowlin , Clark, Wilson barrel I have . The frames and slide are cast but they seem to be holding up with high round counts the holes are all in the right place . IMHO

I'm also willing to bet you would have the same accuracy with a Sam,norc or seraphim unless you do all your shooting from a ransom.

I have built a dozen or so Norc's and Sam's The frame and slides make great builds the barrels are useable but marginal at best they fit but are rough and don't stand up to a high round count . The Para barrels are tough fit well and stand up. I have cut a lot of chambers the only time I used a Sam barrel was on a 6inch long slide the chamber was rough as heck but it shot well . what do you call accurate ? with a two hand hold I want to eat the 10 ring at 20yds and get 2 to 3 inchs at 50 you wont get that out of a Norc barrel All I am saying is a Para Expert is a good buy and on a par if not better than any Sam or Norc. My two cents but that's not worth much nowdays .

Considering I've never been more accurate then my gun and I'm willing bet 99% of people here arnt eigther that the "match" grade isn't something that will make any difference. I'm not arguing which is better I'm just saying that buying something because the manufacture calls it "match grade " isn't the best way to decide a purchase when there isn't a match grade standard. You can buy a accuracy guarantee from ed Brown but thats not them just slapping match grade on a description
Is norc started saying their using match grade barrels what would be say?
And I don't think I could ever hold a 2" @ 50 unsupported in my life but I'm not a bull eyes shooter but I know I can hit alphas more then not.

I have a Para Expert, I don't mind the trigger I only put a few hundred rounds through but it feels good accuracy is good. The chamber is tight I tried some reloaded rounds my Norc commander ate like poop through a goose they would stick in the Para's chamber ended up running them through a Lee carbide crimp die.
