Para Ord Pistols?

I'm jonesing for a 9mm Commander length 1911 and the PARA LTC is one of the alternatives.

Has anyone had issues with Para's aluminum frames? I've heard of peening of the frame around the slide stop holes?

I generally don't have issues with aluminum frames...if they are made by SID.

EDIT: I see on their web site they make a non aluminum LTC as well....hmmm.

I'm just not so sure that Para quality, though they seem to have a strong following in the shooting sports...

I also wonder what their warranty and service is like in Canada? Who are the main dealers?

You might try the m1911.org site, they have a very active Para section of their forums. I can't speak to the subject not having ever owned one. I am personally ambivalent about alloy/aluminum/plastic framed pistols.

Thank you for that site. I just read a thread on LTC owner problems...looking at other threads in the para section, I think I'll be going with something else....
