I received my new Para PX745 yesterday, I played with the slide and noticed that the slide is a little bit tight and requires some oil to loosen up the tightness. When I tried to field strip it, I noticed that the slide is not that easy to remove. I don't want to force it, and decided to bring my concerns here. May be someone has the same issue with this pistol. I need to know if there's any way to remove the slide. A video will be helpful. Thanks.

Yes, the mag is out, the slide stop is out and the barrel bushing is out too. But when I tried to remove the slide it wont come out. And I notice that the ejector is moving, meaning there is something touching the slide that prevents it to release. Can someone tell me what to do. Thanks.

Does it have a firing pin block? If it's a Swartz type activated by the grip safety and you are holding the gun with a shooting grip, the Swartz mechanism would be sticking up and blocking the slide from coming off. This is the only thing I can think of offhand without seeing your issue myself. If this is the case, release the grip safety allowing the thingy to drop back into the frame and you should be good.

Again, I could be way off but this was the first thing that came to mind for me....

But no, I mean just make sure it isn't pressed in. Don't have a shooting grip and make sure you aren't pressing in on the grip safety and try that and see if that makes a difference...

Maybe this will be easier

Do not press the grip safety

1. EMPTY magazine in, pull the slide back to engage and dry-fire
2. Now, do not press the grip safety, remove the magazine
3. Pull the slide backwards until the slide stop clears the small notch then remove the slide stop
4. You can now push the slide forward for further stripping

Hi, Ambishooter, I tried your suggestions but something is blocking the slide. When I tried to push the slide forward I noticed the barrel moves up. I can't think of anything else to do that wont damaged my firearm. I hope you can help. Thanks.

Hi mrclean, did that to. Para USA sent me a reply with regards to the same problem and they said it's the barrel link that causes it. They suggested to tap the back of the slide but it never works. Is there any other way to remove the slide. Anyone.

If you have the slide stop out, turn the gun upside down and put a small punch in the slide stop hole to apply light pressure to the link

Hi fellow gunnutz, I finally fixed my problem. I tap the back of the hammer with a rubber mallet until the slide move forward. It was the barrel link that causes the problem. Since then I never experienced it anymore. Please share this to our fellow gunnutz that might have the same issue. Thanks again to all.
