2 mags in, I had a failure to extract...after examination I saw the extractor had broken. Been reading about possible causes, the recoil spring is extremely "heavy", it takes quite a bit more effort to pull the slide back, especially compared to other 1911's (one of the possible causes).
The broken extractor, first picture shows the break, second shows its a two piece extractor. It fits together, the long section has a post and internal spring. I haven't found anything like it online.
Any thoughts on the type of extractor to replace it?
